Judging a Book by its Cover

They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but that honestly is how I find a lot of my books. On more than one occasion I have bought a book without even reading the summary. I see a book that has a cool cover and I tell myself I have to have it, then later I start reading it, and realize that I had no idea what it was about beforehand. Luckily each time this has happened I enjoyed the book. So, keep in mind that sometimes judging a book (the kind you read) by its cover can actually be helpful in finding a book that you will enjoy!

The Alchemyst, The Magician, The Sorceress- The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

One of My Favorites!

The Alchemyst is the first book in this series by Michael Scott. It's one of those books I just saw on the shelf and knew I had to have it, the cover has some awesome art!
~
Twins Josh and Sophie Newman meet the legendary Alchemyst, Nicholas Flamel who is still living. Only the Codex, which has the secrets to immortality, has been stolen by John Dee. Without the Codex Nicholas and his wife's days are numbered, and they have to stop John Dee from bringing back the Dark Elders. Nicholas takes the twins to be awakened, then to learn the first elemental magic (air).
~
Readers of this series will enjoy the encounters with characters from history.
~
A Great Sequel!!

Gosh these books have amazing covers! I analyzed the cover for hours when it was released, trying to predict what was going to happen. After a few visits to Wikipedia.org, I found out what most of the symbols mean.
~
Picking up from where the last one left off, the group is in Paris fleeing from John Dee. An old friend of Nicholas teaches the second elemental magic (fire) to Sophie.
~
Something to be excited about- Joan of Ark!!!!!
~
Finally, One That Doesn't Leave You Hanging in the End!!!

Did I mention that these books always have cliffhangers?... Not only do they have them at the end of each chapter, but at the end of each book, thankfully The Sorceress has a better ending. Once again amazing cover art, I was so excited to see Stonehenge!

Once again fleeing from the bad guys, the group heads to London so the twins can learn the third elemental magic (water) from Gilgimesh, who is crazy from having so many memories from his long life.

Familiar character from history- William Shakespeare

I recommend this series to everyone!

The Host

Very enjoyable!
__

Basically it's about these aliens that are taking over earth and everyone on it. The main character is one of these aliens, and has taken over a resistant human that won't give up. The two share thoughts, and develop an unlikely friendship.
A really cool book, most of it actually takes place in AZ!
Any fan of Science Fiction will love it, and fans of Twilight will surely enjoy it!
